What to make for dinner?
The new year brings new goals and one of the most popular resolutions is to eat healthy. Here are some cookbook suggestions to get you into the kitchen and cooking fast, healthy, and delicious meals.
Super Natural Cooking: Five Ways to Incorporate Whole and Natural Foods Into Your Cooking
By: Heidi Swanson
A great guide to get you started on using more natural and organic ingredients in your kitchen. This book includes only vegetarian recipes.
American Heart Association: Healthy Family Meals
By: American Heart Association
Cooking Light: Fresh Food Fast
Edited by: heather Averett
Both of these cookbooks are filled with wonderful pictures (which personally makes me appreciate a cookbook more) and emphasize fast, heart-healthy cooking. There are recipes for everything, from appetizers to dessert, and there are some healthy “re-makes” of favorite comfort foods.
Meals Made Easy
By: Real Simple Magazine Editors
Moosewood Restaurant Simple Suppers: Fresh Ideas for the Weeknight Table
By: The Moosewood Collective
Both cookbooks include fresh, new recipes and tried and true favorites. Not quite as health focused as the cookbooks previously mentioned, but many of the heavier recipes can be made as lighter versions.
Eat Fresh Food: Awesome Recipes for Teen Chefs
By: Rozanne Gold and her All-Star Team
